The Kaduna State Police Command recently recovered two stolen vehicles and made multiple arrests, including a suspected kidnapper.
According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, a patrol team from the Rigachikun division spotted a suspiciously parked black Kia Rio near NDC Quarters on October 25.
The car’s lone occupant fled, leaving behind a Tecno KL4 phone, an iPad, and vehicle documents. Investigations revealed that the car had been stolen earlier that day from outside Yahaya Road Jumaat Mosque in Ungwan Rimi.
In another operation on October 27, officers from the Kakuri division stopped a Toyota LE with four occupants acting suspiciously along Kachia Road.
The suspects admitted receiving the vehicle from two others who had instructed them to sell it. Police later arrested the two additional suspects, bringing the total to six individuals in custody as investigations continue.
On October 29, officers from the Katari division arrested Abdullahi Saleh, 42, for allegedly aiding banditry and attempting extortion.
Saleh had approached a female shop owner at Katari Main Market, claiming bandits were planning to kidnap her and demanded N200,000 to stop the plan.
He later lowered the demand to N60,000 and admitted his involvement when questioned by police.
The Kaduna State Police Commissioner, Ibrahim Abdullahi, assured the public that the Command remains dedicated to protecting lives and property.
